Free College. Free Healthcare. Free Housing. Yada. Yada. Yada. C’mon man! Free stuff ain’t free! Someone pays for it. And guess who that is? YOU!
As the government continues giving out their “government funded” so-called “free stuff,” the wicked truth is that it’s most likely being funded by our tax dollars. Just think of all the “free” stuff being given to illegal aliens: gift cards, transportation, hotel rooms, and now legal fees to escape punishment. Who’s paying for that? Tax dollars? That’s us again.
What’s worse is all the behind the scene payoffs. Yeah, like free COVID testing & vaccines. They are not free. Our tax dollars are paying big pharma for them to the tune of more than $22 billion in profits in 2021 with 2022 profit estimates to top $50 billion. And that’s just Pfizer. Do you see what’s going on?
When I graduated from high school I didn’t have money for college so I got a job. I cleaned houses and office buildings on the side but it just wasn’t enough so I got a full time job and went to school at night. It took me more than 12 years but hey, I got a 4 year degree (magna cum laude) and didn’t have a huge student loan to payoff. So no, I don’t want to pay for someone else’s stinkin’ college tuition or loan.
Things are truly reaching a breaking point as our national debt tops $30 trillion. As taxes keep rising to cover all the ‘free’ stuff, so does inflation meaning less and less money for us, the working class. I’m not against providing help to those who are really in need. Sometimes people need a hand-up to get back on their feet or due to medical issues, are unable to support themselves. Veterans who have fought for our freedom need to be taken care of. Kindness and generosity for those in need is the Christian way. But there are sooooo many examples where we just need to cull back all the “free” stuff because it JUST AIN’T FREE!
